I picked her up at the airport and we stopped at her place for a moment but then went to my place and we sat on the couch and drank tea and made out and told each other amusing anecdotes about our trips. The next morning it was raining and it doesn’t rain a whole lot around here so we were super excited about that. We went to the IHOP down in Frogtown and it was the best! We had a crazy indulgent feast of breakfast delicacies and I stole a coffee cup for her, a small souvenir with which to remember this special day. Then it was raining like crazy, it was really coming down so we just drove around for a while and it was really great, and we ended up at the Sav-On drugs and bought some cold-sore medication, and then we went to the Home Depot to get some top secret building materials for that um, thing, that I’m working on. For some reason we picked up this thing that was like a giant magnet on a stick and walked around with it and it was quite some fun, we were picking up all sorts of stuff with it. And then we went back to her place and she retrieved Houdini who is the special little guy, he was super happy to see us and was capering and gamboling about and then and we all took a nap and it was very pleasant indeed! And then we made a delicious split-pea soup from scratch and by “we” I mean her. Does this sound like the best day ever? Well yes it was and there is still more. Then we got in a kind of argument about this thing that turned out to be a good thing in disguise. Now isn’t that strange? And we went to see the new James Bond movie which was kind of “dumb” but we enjoyed it. We sat through the credits to the end and everyone left the theater except for this old couple sitting next to us which was kind of odd but pleasant in a way too, I think we started to feel that maybe they were our mom and dad. But then we all left and went back to her place and we were so tired, and we made tea but fell asleep before we could drink it. |
