Dear Diary, That guy is making pretty good progress with the road-work. But anyway Marcie was standing upon our heads and saying, “mer-owl” in a deranged fashion so we decided to get up even though it was only eight. We drank a ton of coffee and ate a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs and oatmeal and a god damn avocado, and we made a very ambitious list of things to do which we admired for a while and then we sat around this thing called the octagon that’s in my backyard. We call it that because of its shape but no-one really knows what it is. It’s nice though. Anyway then we went back inside and took a nap even though we had practically just gotten up. Finally we decided to “Seize the carp” as the saying goes and ended up going to Olga's shop at and making a birthday present for Krisztina which was a set of salt and pepper shakers that we found in a 1950’s reprint from Popular Science that we thought were super classy. Then we went for a long motorcycle ride on the Angeles Crest Highway which was kind of fun but also kind of “boring”. Oh I forgot to mention that I was at this flea market and saw a fantastical red leather motorcycle jacket from the seventies that was absurdly cheap so I bought it for Olga and when I gave it to her she said that her whole life she had dreamed of exactly such a jacket as that. The party was really great except that there was this horrible girl there who insisted that everyone say a special toast to Krisztina and most people mumbled a few awkward things but then when it was her turn she launched into a horrifying oration and it became clear that even though she had seemed to suggest the toast as a whim she had secretly prepared an extremely elaborate and boring speech. We hated that girl!
