Dear Diary,

With all the economic problems of late I sure wish classmates.com would go out of business. But anyway we had dinner at Olga’s friends’ house, we’re doing that thing of introducing each other to our friends in the form of dinner parties art openings and bars. All of her friends are these deranged artists who do things like travel to the Philippines for 8 months to document the squalid living conditions of gold-miners or maybe that was Olga herself I’m not quite sure. We were planning on doing laundry afterwards but we had drunk some wine and it was kind of late for that so we drove back to her house but for some reason we didn’t get out of the car, we just sat there looking through the windshield at the city, and a few sporadic cars drove by but mainly it was really quiet and peaceful. It was like the sensation you get of being in a tent in the woods, or sitting on a porch in the rain – it was really nice sitting in the car, like a sanctuary. There was a gigantic bale of laundry on the back seat and I told her an amusing anecdote about sleeping under a pile of laundry and we talked about how you always see people sitting in their cars in los angeles, just sitting there – but can you blame them? And we talked about some other things too but mainly we didn't talk at all.
