If anyone knows where the remote for my CD player is they should quit being coy and tell me at once. I think when I find it again I’m going to wire it to a giant greazy hubcap. I just paid $11 for a movie which I think has got to be some kind of record. The movie was Salton Sea which was probably worth about $2.50. For some reason we thought it was going to be about the Salton Sea – which is my favorite place ever – but we were sadly mistaken. This one time me and Hannahbean went to the Salton Sea for a vacation which was a mistake because it’s the most bleak and soulless place ever. How bleak is it? Well for one thing the beach isn’t sand but crunching fish vertebrae. Also the only buildings are the empty decrepit hulks of luxury hotels built in the fifties then abandoned when the water turned toxic. There’s a bird sanctuary with great hideous looping birds that you will not see anywhere else, birds that slowly turn in the widening gyre. Another thing is that the sky was yellow although maybe that was just an atmospheric condition peculiar to our ill-fated visit three years ago.
